Assignment 3 Standee Movies Poster Design

In class, we were doing a few exercises about movies poster design in Photoshop.

Here are the exercise that i done so far.

From the exercise i learned how to put the texture on the elements and the colour adjustment.

So for my final outcome we are doing a standee poster.

The theme of my poster is about Zombie and how am I gonna to survive in the movie.

Drawing Word- Research and Analysis

The brief the first assignment for Illustration and Visual Narrative 

The task about the assignment is to define what illustration means. After that, we have to required to conceptualise for module title, Illustration and Visual Narrative / IVN.

For my first step for doing this assignment, I researched the history about Illustration.
Through the history of Illustration, there were many illustrator in early to mid 19 century, John Leech, George Cruikshank. 
John Tenniel who illustrated Lewis Carrol's Alice Adventure in Wonderland.

Some of the best and most loved art during 19 century and there was a period of Victorian Era and into the present day has been produced as illustration by illustrator.

For example, Waterhouse and Henry Justice Ford, Maxfield Parrish, Edward Hopper. They using oil paint, pen and ink, woodcut to illustrate with a fine arts feel.

There have a lot of illustration work in that time that really impress me. I like the way they express their drawing in illustration with fine art feel. I have an idea seem that a lot of illustration works had done in Victorian Era, so I set up the title is called Victorian Era just wonder to recognise the golden age of illustration.

Illustration can be describe fine art feel, art of creating images to complement expressions

in other media. 

Illustration is new elements of creativity beauty of the works so that can attract viewers' interest .

Illustration is hand made media such as drawing, painting, etching.

Visual is something that seeing or sight, transform from invisible to visible.

Visual present information in visually tidy and meaningful way, readable and recognisable.

Reserach for Narrative

Narrative is story telling , perspective insignificant, perhaps emphasizing.

Theme and Title: Victoria Era

Concept : Steampunk + Mechanical

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industralized Western civilization during the 19th century or period of Victorian Era. Design my illustration into steampunk concept is taking place in Victorian Era but include advanced machines based on 19th century technology. Steampunk and Victorian Era is can be describe that they have connection for each others.

This is the original drawing. We have to draw it out by line. I'm using different size or thickness of line to create the volume of the object. So, we can analysis all the object from the drawing.

I have improve the line of mist and cloud in the drawing.
